Turkey Avocado Wrap for Diabetics

Ingredients
  

  • 1 Low carb tortilla or whole grain tortilla
  • 3–4 slices Roasted turkey breast no added sugar preferred
  • 1/2 Avocado ripe
  • 1 handful Spinach or romaine washed and dried
  • 2–3 slices Tomato pat dry
  • 2–3 slices Red onion (optional) thinly sliced
  • 1 tbsp Mustard or Greek yogurt light spread
  • to taste Salt
  • to taste Black pepper

Equipment

  • 1 Cutting board
  • 1 Knife
  • 1 Spoon or fork For mashing avocado
  • 1 Small bowl (optional) If mixing spread
  • 1 Parchment paper For wrapping

Method
 

  1. Lay the tortilla flat on a clean surface.
  2. Mash the avocado directly onto the tortilla and spread it evenly.
  3. Sprinkle a small pinch of salt and pepper over the avocado.
  4. Layer the roasted turkey slices evenly across the center.
  5. Add spinach or romaine on top of the turkey.
  6. Place tomato slices and red onion evenly over the greens.
  7. Spread a thin layer of mustard or Greek yogurt if using.
  8. Fold the bottom edge up slightly, tuck in the sides, and roll tightly into a wrap.
  9. Slice in half if desired and serve immediately.

Notes

  • Use plain roasted turkey breast without added sugars for better blood sugar control.
  • Choose a high fiber or low carb tortilla to reduce total carbs.
  • Add a squeeze of lemon to avocado if making ahead to slow browning.
  • Pat tomatoes dry before assembling to prevent a soggy wrap.
  • Adjust portion size based on your individual carb tolerance.
